‘Settlement Patterns’ speculates on new patterns of settlement that erase typical lot lines, fences, and boundaries that artificially and physically subdivide the landscape and inhibit animal migration and natural ecosystems. This project imagines a role reversal of house to site. What if buildings could wrap, go under, go above, go around, encircle and otherwise privilege our natural resources and food production with the goal of creating a more balanced existence for people, plants, and animals?
