Located in the established suburban neighborhood of Loveland, this project involved the renovation of a home for an artist. The house was opened up from its original tight floor plan that included a formal dining room and maid’s quarters. An enlarged kitchen, entry connection to the garage, and laundry room were made generous to provide accessibility for the client. Because the client spends a lot of time in the kitchen, it became a focus for the project. The kitchen was relocated to face onto the generous backyard, and a large skylight was added, which required restructuring of the roof. The intent was to create a space for the enjoyment of the client but could also act as a backdrop for gathering friends and family.
